Rachel Zobenica - Dancer/Ensemble


Rachel trained in Musical Theatre at the Midlands Academy Of Dance & Drama, during this time Rachel worked with industry professionals and performed in many MADD Productions.


Rachel is also a qualified Boogie Bounce instructor and teaches dance to a variety of ages.

Rachel can't wait to perform this year for The James Brandon Company and would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

Lucy Auty - Dancer/Ensemble


Lucy began dancing at the age of three taking classes in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, contemporary, street and musical theatre at The Katie Philpott School of Dance in Mirfield. 


While at school, Lucy gained a place at Phoenix Dance Theatre's Youth Academy, taking weekly classes in Contemporary dance. 


She then went on to train at the prestigious Preston's College graduating with a Foundation Degree in Teaching Dance in the Private Sector and also her DDI and DDE teaching qualifications in Imperial Ballet and Modern Theatre.  She has achieved her Advanced 2 Modern and Advanced 1 ballet and won Ballet Dancer of the Year in 2017!


Aladdin is Lucy's first professional production and she is delighted to be a part of this year's cast!

Alicia Kemp - Dancer/Ensemble


Alicia was a member of the Stuart Stage School in Heckmondwike for 13 years and at the age of 16 she gained a dance and drama award at SLP College, Leeds where she trained for three years and graduated in July with a Level 6 Trinity Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre.


Alicia made her professional debut at the age of twelve in Bill Kenwright's UK tour of Whistle Down The Wind playing the supporting lead role of Brat.


Other credits include: Half a Sixpence, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar and Evita. Alicia was also the understudy for the role of Jemima in the UK Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford.


College credits include: Max the dog (Grinch that stole Christmas), Hope Harcourt (Anything Goes) Sophie (Mamma Mia) and Doctor Von Brausepulver (Spring Awakening)


Alicia has just finished a 5 month contract in Mallorca as a singer/dancer in Iberostar Hotels with Cabaret Femme Fetale.


Alicia is thrilled to be joining The James Brandon Company again this year.

Ken McConnell - Abanaazar


Originally from Liverpool, Ken is a highly experienced actor who has performed in countless shows over

the years, Stage roles range from Shaw to Shakespeare and Pinter to Panto, including the lead role in Shakespeare`s Macbeth for Bitesize theatre, Bottom in A Midsummer Nights dream and Polonius in Hamlet for The Really Short Theatre Co. In 2009 Ken toured the UK with The Rex Roman Pink Floyd Show which played at The Edinburgh festival.


A Pantomime regular with The James Brandon Company in roles as diverse as Mr Wolf in Red Riding hood to an Ugly sister in Cinderella and Abanaazar in Aladdin his performance which The Stage described in 2013 as "The Best Abanaazer in pantoland, this performer is an expert!" After receiving four star reviews for playing Richard Burton in The Liz & Dick Show in Edinburgh 2013 Ken toured the play nationally in 2015 ending in a sell out run at the Lantern theatre Liverpool


TV credits include Coronation Street, Brookside, Emmerdale, ITV`s Medics, Vincent, and Crimewatch. And this year as The Lawyer in the Stanton Fisher TV commercial shown nationally. Ken is delighted to be returning to The James Brandon Company to reprise the role of Abanaazar.

Amanda Walton - Slave Of The Ring


Amanda trained at Blackpool and the Fylde College.  Roles include: Jack Trott, Jack & The Beanstalk (The James Brandon Company), Prince Charming, Cinderella (The James Brandon Company), Dick, Dick Whittington (Winsford Centre), Sister Mary Stephen, Sister Act (Aberystwyth Arts Centre), Felicia Gabriel, Witches of Eastwick (Contact Theatre), Ms Loomis, Lucky Stiff (Brick Theatre, Blackpool), Helene, Sweet Charity (Grand Theatre, Blackpool), Ma Strong, Urinetown (Brick Theatre, Blackpool), Soloist, B&FC Choir (Blackpool Tower Ballroom & The Sands Venue). 


For the past year Amanda has been a member of vocal duo ‘AC Live’ working on a variety of shows from Abba to Music Hall!


Amanda has always had a passion for all things pantomime and is delighted to be making a return to The James Brandon Company this Christmas.

Karl Brennan - Widow Twankey


Karl has appeared in various shows produced by The James Brandon Company such as; 'Beauty and The Beast’  ‘The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz’, ‘Cock up in Benidorm’.


A talented performer who has taken on many diverse roles with various local theatre companies from Bill Sykes in ‘Oliver' to Edna Turnblad in ‘Hairspray’ Other roles include:  Jekyll & Hyde in ‘Jekyll and Hyde’, Bill Hickok in ‘Calamity Jane’, Mushnik in ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’ Jean Val Jean in ‘Les Miserables’, Man in ‘Whistle Down The Wind’, Moonface Martin in ‘Anything Goes’, Julian Marsh in ‘42nd Street’, Jud Fry in ‘Oklahoma’, Scrooge in ‘A Christmas Carol’, Mr Myers in ‘Fame’, Daddy Warlocks in ‘Annie’, Khasoggi in ‘We Will Rock You’, Dave in ‘The Full Monty’, George in ‘La Cage Aux Folles’, Judge Turpin in ‘Sweeney Todd’ and The King in ‘The King & I’ to name a few…


Karl has recently turned his hand to Directing after successfully directing 2 versions of ‘The Vicar Of Dibley’ and is soon to direct 'The Full Monty’ at The Pomegranate Theatre in Chesterfield, alongside the third instalment of ‘The Vicar Of Dibley’.


Last year saw Karl joined The James Brandon Company at Christmas in the role of Company Manager, and will be making his pantomime dame debut as Widow Twankey this year. He hopes you all have a fabulous time and come back for more!!!

Melvyn White - Emperor


Born near Wakefield and educated at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School on a Choral Scholarship, Mel has enjoyed a varied musical career.  As a solo Tenor  he has combined Oratorio, Opera, and Musical Comedy, performing in the UK, Spain and America.   He is currently engaged as a vocal coach and assistant Conductor to a choir of over 500 voices at the Birmingham N.I.A.  and is also responsible for coaching for the touring productions of ‘Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ at Sheffield Lyceum Theatre.   


For many years Mel was one of the principal tenors in Yorkshire Opera, singing many leading tenor roles in ‘Barber of Seville’, ‘The Magic Flute’, ‘Carmen’ and ‘Faust’  as well as playing leading roles 

in: ‘West Side Story’, ‘South Pacific’, ‘Oklahoma’ and many others.  Mel is excited to be returning to this Christmas.

Cev Barker - Wishee Washee


Cev is pleased to be returning to the Academy for his 11th Pantomime season with The James Brandon Company.  


He has been involved in theatre for over 30 years as a performer, stage manager and director. He now uses his experience to run Stagecoach Theatre Arts School in Dewsbury, along with his wife Sarah.



They also run ‘Acorn Productions’ they have produced several plays and musicals and are looking forward to producing 2 touring pieces of work next year. 


He has loved spending his Christmases working with The James Brandon Company.

Ellie Cooper - Princess Jasmine


Ellie is currently studying Musical Theatre at Mechanics Performing Arts in Wakefield.


Credits include;  Belle in 'Beauty and the Beast' (The James Brandon Company), Principle Dancer in ‘The Jimmy Cricket Comedy Show’ and ‘Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs) Dorothy in ‘The Wonderful Wizard Of Oz’ (The James Brandon Company), Margot in 'Legally Blonde' (The Mechanics Theatre), Laurey in ‘Oklahoma’ (The Academy Theatre), Éponine in Les Miserables (The Academy Theatre).  


Ellie is very excited to be working with The James Brandon Company on her first Christmas Pantomime.

Ami Oliver - Dancer/Ensemble


Ami is thrilled to be making her return to pantomime in her home town of Barnsley.  She first trained at the Take 2 Performing Arts Academy then went on to joint the famous Italia Conti Art Centre in London, where she studied musical theatre. 


Since then her credits include: Singer in The Cole Porter Collection and A Night At The West End, Leanne in ‘Forgotten Birthday’, Anne in the film ‘Astry’, Girlfriend in ‘Heart’ Music Video (Eden Haze), Jill in Jack and The Beanstalk (The James Brandon Company) Cinderella in Cinderella (The James Brandon Company) 'Wild Cherries',  'Whodidit?' and 'the Workshop' (The Shaw Theatre London),  Beauty and the Beast, Amber Von Tussle in 'Hairspray',  Alex in the film 'Re-run', The Gruffalo Experience and Sister Holly in ‘Good Girl‘ Music Video.  Ami is delighted to be back with The James Brandon Company.

Luke Wilby - Aladdin


Luke has just graduated from The Mechanics Performing Arts College in Wakefield, in college Luke has performed various shows including: Tom Collins in 'Rent', Jeff in 'Title of show', Brit in 'We Will Rock You' and Mr Bumble in 'Oliver'(Mechanics Theatre, Wakefield).


Other credits include; Franz in ‘Rock of Ages’ (Harrogate Theatre), King Herod in 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (Wakefield Theatre Royal), Ali hakim in 'Oklahoma' (Grand Opera House, York), Dr TV in 'Dr TV and the TV Zombies' (West Yorkshire Playhouse) and Bustopher Jones in 'Cats' (Wakefield Theatre Royal)


Luke is thrilled to be playing the role of Aladdin in this years pantomime and is delighted to be working with The James Brandon Company.
